Barry Nyugen, together with Dr. Clint Steele, co-founders of this company, promise to present a consept car at the SEAMA 2015 in Las Vegas (November 3rd-6th), and starting from than on to finish a legal street car till the end of 2016. The company will be focused in the R&D and commercialization of high performance solar and electric vehicle technologies, a global product company in the automotive space offering limited edition sport cars powered by the sun, but also afertermarket automotive products to convert petrol cars into plug-in hybrid vehicles.
The team around this project comes from solar car builders around the famous Solar Challenge from Australia, builders of special solar cars able to go around the fith continent about more than 3.000 miles. But is is not easy to prepare a legal street car, even if this will be a two-seater sport-car. nevertheless his car will have a lenth of 5m, with 2 meters width, and will care 7 m2 of solar panel with a cell efficiency of 22%.
The Immortus is a quarter ton 40 kkW composite roadster n(with two hub motors in the rear wheels), designed to carry two people with room for hand luggage. Fully laden is takes from 0-100 km/h in less than 7 seconds. It will have a combined battery and solar range of over 550 km at an average of 85km/h and a top speed of over 150 km/h. Depending on certain conditions, it can run on an unlimited range on solar alone at 60 km/h.
